Its main advantage is the same as for other PBS cryogenic products, namely the use of aerodynamic gas bearings, which ensure many years of maintenance-free operation.
The non-contact bearings arrangement also makes it possible to achieve high operating speeds, which in the case of a cryogenic drive unit exceed 70,000 rpm. Aerodynamic bearings operate without the risk of the contamination process medium. With an actual output of 3.5 kW to 7 kW, it has a wide range of applications and can be tailored to customer requirements.
PBS has been in the cryogenic business for more than 35 years as a supplier of turboexpanders, compressors, and cryogenic pumps to major customers and prestigious research institutes, including Linde Kryotechnik, CERN, and the Max Planck Institute.
