Prvni brnenska strojirna, a.s. was awarded the contract to deliver and install a Direct Firing Gas Boiler for the new UNIPER Scholven Combined Heat and Power Plant in West Germany.
A traditional boiler manufacturer, První brněnská strojírna, a.s. (PBS), will take a part in the construction  of the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant consisting of two gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine at the Scholven site by providing a direct fired steam boiler. Delivery is scheduled to begin with design stage in 2020 and with final hand over of boiler in 2022.

UNIPER is an international energy company that generates, trades, and sells energy on a large scale with 11,400 employees in 40 countries and has a generating capacity of approximately 34 GW.
The general contractor of the new CHP plant, SENER MMEC MANNESMANN SCHOLVEN is a Joint Venture leaded by the Spanish SENER, a renowned turnkey supplier of combined cycle and cogeneration plants all over the world, and the German company MMEC Mannesmann, which is becoming a major player in the German energy sector.

The new Scholven CHP Plant is proposed to replace the existing plants in the future. The conversion of the site to gas will not only significantly reduce emissions of substances such as CO2 but it will also reduce noise pollution. The entire production of the new CHP Plant at this traditional site is tailored to the needs of the surrounding industry and the future need for district heating supplies.
První brněnská strojírna, a.s. will supply a natural gas fired steam boiler with output of 100 t/h of superheated steam.

„The purpose of the PBS boiler will not be to be operated as a backup boiler only, but also in certain times of the year, it will act as a peak boiler too. In warm conditions, the boiler will reach the nominal power at nominal rated parameters within 15 minutes including the ventilation of the boiler, which must be done before each ignition. The boiler will also be capable of reaching a nominal load from its minimal load in 5 minutes.”says Pavel Kreminsky, deputy of PBS CTO.
