PBS Velka Bites has had a commercially successful year despite a difficult period. The company is testing a new type of high thrust turbojet engine so far, strengthening its position as a manufacturer of hi-tech cryogenic equipment and establishing a new company, PBS India.
Thanks to investments and innovations, the traditional engineering company has also won several awards. For the development of the new superalloy, PBS received an honourable mention in the contest Innovation of the Year 2020. The material is used for precision castings of pulping heads, which are used by leading manufacturers to produce glass wool. The patent's great advantage is especially a more ecological production process and outstanding lifespan of the material.
"Otherwise, however, this year, marked by the epidemic, was rather difficult for the precision superalloy casting division, and the division's financial result was marked by a slump in the transportation industry and reduced demand for turbochargers. Fortunately, it was a record year at the aviation division, so overall, the economic result is very good." According to PBS VB CEO Milan Macholan.
Mainly due to the aerospace division's export success, PBS also placed them in the Exporter of the Year competition, which is co-organized by the Chamber of Commerce. Overall, PBS won 4th place and 3rd place in the Bisnode category. "It is a great success that after many years we have managed to establish ourselves with aviation technology in the demanding western markets, especially Germany, England, and Sweden." adds CEO Milan Macholan.
