We got 2nd place in the state “České ručičky” competition for the best metal machinist

Every school year, there are numerous competitions held in the Czech Republic to test the practical skills of high school students. These competitions have a well-established place in the system of competitions and fairs of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. This is precisely why a student, Jakub Chytka, from the J. Tiray Vocational High School (SOŠ) in Velká Bíteš, took part in this competition as the best contender in the Regional Competition of practical skills in machine turning.
We got 2nd place in the state “České ručičky” competition for the best metal machinist

ALL THE COMPETITORS HAD TO HANDLE THESE TASKS:

  1. PRACTICAL SECTION – machine turning two components according to a technical drawing.

  2. THEORETICAL SECTION – mounting analysis, calculating cutting conditions, measuring components.

The objective evaluation was overseen by a supervisor, a judge and the main judge.
A total of 19 students from 10 regions of the Czech Republic took part in the KOVO JUNIOR 2018 competition. In this very hard and demanding competition, Jakub Chytka won a very nice 2nd place.

We thank not only Jakub but also the foremen and teachers of the J. Tiray SOŠ and also the Centre of Practical Education and the První Brněnská Strojírna Velká Bíteš, where the students had their practical training.
The competitions are part of the state-wide České ručičky (Czech hands) exhibition. This exhibition of skills is organised by the South-Moravian region, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and other partners.
The main goal of the event is to support the development of crafts and also the appreciation of talented students. The mission of this exhibition is also to increase awareness about apprenticeships among children and their parents, but also among the public.
